IMM Cologne is the yearly furniture exhibition’s in January which is held at koelnmesse exhibition centre Cologne, Germany. IMM Cologne is the place for experiencing home interiors and is the central meeting place for furniture designers, furniture companies, furniture retailers, architects and interior designers. And as usual in IMM Cologne 2011 that showcases the home interiors of the future, with a wealth of new products on display within the fair’s many halls. One that attracted the attention this year is the new ‘Living Kitchen’ section which is results of Matteo Thun’s collaboration with Milanese brand, Riva 1920, and American Hardwood. Making a feature out of metal framework proved a persistent trend, as shown by designers like Linn Kandel and Schwab/Panther. Ligne Roset’s contribution to the fairs by shown new additions to its Ruché collection by Inga Sempe, and a ‘Simplissimo’ range of seating, including a banquette and chaise longue, by Jean Nouvel, which may look firm but are actually surprisingly comfortable.
